We came to Coudersport after my daughter told me she wanted to see a true night sky. So after researching the best star gazing near Pittsburgh, we found Potter County. I knew she would love to come for her birthday. After looking for a place to stay, I came upon the beautiful Five Pines Lodge. I found out later after horseback riding that the name of the house is after five children that are close to Randy Coyle’s heart. Pretty cool.
We had the time of our lives here this weekend and my daughter had a 10th birthday to remember.
Thank you, Randy for opening your home to us. Liz and George were exceptional in helping us get settled.
Who knew that when making the reservations in February we would come on the most beautiful clear and cool weekend! Wow!
Sincerely,
Jaimee Grinage

We came to Coudersport for a wedding. Five Pines Lodge was a lovely place to stay in between festivities.
What a lovely, comfortable home. George and Liz were very helpful with some questions we had. They wanted to be sure we were comfortable and having a good time.
Thank you very much. We would certainly recommend this home to others who would like to stay in this area.

My name is Luke and I am 5 years old. I liked playing croquet with my family, and I liked the game badminton. My 8-year-old sister Samantha whittled a stick. She made a fox and a pineapple. We played board games, and guess what’s funny: We brought “Clue” and you have that game too! We had lots of fun staying here and it was a great vacation. We had to travel very far because we live in Maryland.
Love,
Luke

Thank you so much for opening your home to guests. We had so much fun. I had so much fun riding my ATV, having a TV in my room, playing games, and having a campfire. My mom and dad loved the porch. We hope to come back to your very fun place.

I can’t say enough about Five Pines Lodge. The property and home are even more beautiful in person than the photos. Liz (housekeeper), and George (groundkeeper) were there to greet my ten-year-old daughter and I. they got us settled, George prepared the fire pit for us for later on. Randy has the fixings for s’mores set out for us along with a bottle of local wine, which was delicious. We enjoyed looking for the fish in the pond, relaxing in the padded hammock, and sitting by the fire. The mornings were cool, so I turned on the porch heater while I drank my coffee and watched the squirrels and birds. Mr. Coyle’s home has a warmth to it. I’ve rented many vacation homes and Five Pines felt like home away from home. This was my daughter’s favorite trip out of the many places that we’ve visited. We hope to come again.

Great place with wife and kids. Great vacation home in the mountains. A lot of local activities for wife and kids (shops, site seeing, etc.) But yet, plenty of things still to do for the outdoorsman. Truly is “God’s Country”.

Peaceful and relaxing

Five Pines Lodge is an incredible property. We just returned from a long weekend of stargazing. The home is very tastefully decorated. It has EVERYTHING you need. Grounds were well kept and the house is SPOT LESS. Not even a speck of dust to be found. Internet was fast and cellular reception very good. Great location close to Cherry Springs, Coudersport, Ice Mine and mini golf.

Comfortable house surrounded by nature. 4/5 Our stay at Five Pines in Coudersport was enjoyable. A miniature golf course is only about 1.3 miles away and it was very nice. There is a small shopping mall and convenience store within walking distance. There are several good restaurants nearby. ATV paths adjoin the property, which are convenient for walking. Deer visited the yard daily. The only downfall was that there was a few inches difference in the floor between each room, which took awhile to get used to and might not be good for older people.

Wonderful Family Vacation near Cherry Springs 5/5 We took our family here for a long weekend getaway to visit Cherry Springs and see the fall foliage. This location did not disappoint and we spend almost our entire vacation in this wonderful home. With multiple locations to gather as a family, we enjoyed meals, games, drinks and laughter together. We even sat out by the fire pit nearly all night which was stocked with wood and had enough chairs for everyone. This was an absolutely wonderful trip and we can't wait to return to this home in the future.

Star Gazing Getaway
5/5
We booked Five Pines Lodge for a weekend getaway and for some star gazing at Cherry Springs State Park. The weekend was very relaxing, but star gazing was a total bust due to heavy cloud cover and rain the entire time we were in town. The house is AMAZING! Charming and well equipped, modern and rustic at the same time. The grounds are beautiful and restful. We were visited by a family of five deer each day, usually twice a day. We visited the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum just a short drive away -- very interesting and informative; and very well done! We also took a drive down to Cherry Springs State Park -- about 10 miles from the house -- and look forward to a return trip in the future. Highly recommend this property!

This home is absolutely lovely. It is very clean and comfortable inside and outside. Easy check in. Liz is the caretaker and responded timely to any questions we had before and during our stay. George is the groundskeeper. He was very helpful and friendly as well. The outdoor property is beautiful w a pond; hammock; fire pit that is all set up and ready to light; croque; bean bag toss; a covered porch area w comfortable seating with a ceiling fan, and nice lighting. Really , the lighting inside and out is very nicely done. Everything is marked and there are lights on dimmers so the ambiance is really very pleasant. Rooms have ceiling fans. There are plenty of windows so it is bright and cheery. There are ac?s if need be. Beds are comfortable. Nice towels. Updated bathrooms. Really the whole house is updated. We really enjoyed our time at this property. It was very pleasant watching the deer roam in the backyard while drinking coffee in the morning. We would absolutely recommend this home to someone who is visiting the Coudersport area.

Five Pines Lodge - Wonderful!
4/5
Loved it here. Liz and George were great. The house and grounds were immaculate. The house is a well loved and cared for family cabin that has loads of character, and has been updated so you have more the house vibe while maintaining the cabin "feel". If "glamping" is glamour camping, then this is a glamour cabin, or "glabin"? Was very comfy and we wanted for nothing. The grounds were such that we did not venture off the property as much as anticipated, but rather stayed and played outdoor games all day and then relaxed by the fire pit well into the evening. In that area of the large yard that backs up to the woods, there were regular visits by deer, squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, birds flitting all over the place.......and even a porcupine. It was often like a scene from a Bambi movie - quite idyllic. There is a lovely pond as well with it's own cast of critters. For what is was, this was a spectacular property. And don't forget about the stargazing at Cherry Springs State Park - do not miss this on a clear might. The only downsides were that it was not so secluded as expected, with a few neighbors around and some close-by businesses but certainly not a factor, you're just not in the middle of nowhere (if that is what you are expecting)......and that because the house is in a valley you do hear the noise from the road a short distance away, but I'll imagine it's only noticeable as the area is so quiet other wise. Neither of these detracted from our enjoyment. I'd stay in this house again in a heartbeat. Enjoy!
